Our Commitment
Ozarks Outdoor Pro is committed to making our website and services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe accessibility is essential — homeowners and property managers in Springfield and the Ozarks region should be able to find, evaluate, and request exterior services without technical barriers.
Conformance Standard
Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What We've Implemented
- Semantic HTML — headings, lists, links, and forms use the correct elements so screen readers can navigate logically.
- Color contrast — all text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background (small text) or 3:1 (large text). Our navy-cream-leaf green palette was explicitly designed to meet AA.
- Image alt text — every meaningful image has descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked with
alt=""so screen readers correctly ignore them. - Keyboard navigation — all links, buttons, and forms are accessible by keyboard alone (no mouse required). Visible focus indicators show where you are on the page.
- "Skip to content" link — the first Tab key on any page reveals a link to skip navigation and go directly to main content.
- Form labels — every input field is associated with a visible label or a descriptive
aria-label. - Touch targets ≥ 44×44 pixels on mobile devices — links and buttons are large enough for users with motor limitations.
- Reduced motion — we respect the operating system's
prefers-reduced-motionpreference; animations are automatically disabled for users who prefer less motion. - ARIA labels where HTML semantics alone are insufficient (mobile menus, dialogs, regions).
- Languages — the site is served in English (default) and U.S. Spanish with correct
langtags, allowing screen readers to pronounce content correctly.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
The site has been tested with the following assistive technology combinations:
- NVDA + Firefox/Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver + Safari (macOS, iOS)
- TalkBack + Chrome (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation across all major browsers
Areas Under Development
While we continually work to improve accessibility, some areas may be evolving:
- Future "before/after" gallery photos will carry full alt-text descriptions; existing images are being audited.
- Complex quote forms with optional fields are being refined for clearer error feedback.
- Embedded testimonials and reviews are reviewed to ensure adequate contrast against backgrounds.
Reporting an Accessibility Issue
If you find any part of our site difficult to use due to a disability, we want to know. We commit to:
- Responding within 5 business days.
- Providing an accessible alternative to the content if a technical fix is not immediately feasible (for example, completing your quote by phone or email).
- Working to resolve the issue in an updated version of the site.
